In my life experience, men and boys used the men's facilities designated for them, girls and women did the
same. The designation was based on anatomy, something that in most cases is easily determined. The
Bozeman City Commissioners and Mayor have aligned themselves with the ACLU whose members claim
that public bathroom and locker room entree should no longer depend on anatomy, but on what is
basically a feeling as in "I feel like I should have been born a woman." I assume this means that in the
future, if the ACLU gets their way, an individual with a penis who "feels like a woman," can come into a
shower room and watch me shower. Worse yet, I assume it means that a boy with a gender identity crisis,
or maybe even a male coach who "feels like a woman," can enter the locker room at my granddaughter's
school and watch her shower and dress.
The world appears to be abandoning common sense and rationality. I am dismayed that the Mayor and the
Commission seem to be more worried about the '"feelings of the few" than about the protection that my
granddaughter and I need and deserve. I suggest that you all avoid going down the rabbit hole and think of
your own daughters and granddaughters. Why make something complicated that is not comp;[cated? Boys
use the boys room. Girls use the girls room. It has nothing to do with feelings, it's about privacy,
Thank you,
City Of Bozeman
