Powell To:Agenda Subject:CUP for Kirby & Radoslovich Families Date:Tuesday, October 17, 2017 10:51:23 AM Dear Commissioners and City of Bozeman Officials, I recently heard about a situation where two families were choosing to reside in one residence to save money and reduce their carbon footprint in the city of Bozeman (Baxter Meadows). My understanding is the local HOA also approved the purchase of the home under those conditions so the couples and their kids proceeded with the sale of their existing homes andpurchased this home. I can personally vouch for both of these families as being of sound character as well as their past history of improving their living space. The Kirby's, in particular purchased a home inBozeman several years back and continued to make quality improvements inside and out. They also had friendly relationships with their neighbors, a few of which I also met. The decision these two families made is quite commendable and creative considering the priceof housing in Bozeman and their desire to be contributing members of this community. The house they purchased is more than big enough for the two families. Since they also worktogether, their direct carpooling will reduce the number of vehicles on our busy roads as well as reduce the associated auto emissions. As a Bozeman resident (Cattail Creek), I ask you all to please consider granting them aCUP for cooperative housing. I know you are all working diligently to solve the numerous housing issues in Bozeman but it is not an easy or one-dimensional issue. Creative solutionslike the Kirby's and Radoslovich's put forth should be commended in my humble opinion, especially given the big picture of how they approached and solved their housing situation. Thank you all for your careful consideration in this matter. Tyler L. PowellBozeman resident 3327 N. 27th Ave, #15 Bozeman, MT 59718406.600.9313
