I urge the Commission to consider what is best for our entire Bozeman community, not only for those with the loudest voices. Many members of this community, myself included, see Black Olive as a step in the direction our city needs to go in order to avoid sprawl, provide affordable housing, and maintain a vibrant downtown. Some of us have been reluctant to speak up publicly because we fear putting ourselves in the crossfire of this contentious issue, but I hope our opinions will be considered, too. I hope the Commission will choose to uphold the zoning decisions that have been put in place for the betterment of this community - for the establishment of a more walkable, affordable, and sustainable Bozeman - rather than allow itself to be distracted by an angry neighborhood group that is resistant to change. I fear the precedent that would be set by allowing a group like Save Bozeman to prevent developments that are legal and in keeping with the guidelines previously set by the city. The only path to environmentally sound and affordable growth will be sticking to a long-term development plan that discourages sprawl and provides adequate housing. I believe the Black Olive decision is an important opportunity for the Commission to reestablish a commitment to the values of smart, inclusive growth, and to assert that our city representatives will make decisions based on the good of ALL residents of Bozeman, current and future. Thank you for your consideration. Thank you, City Of Bozeman This is an automated message generated by the Vision Content Management Systemâ„¢. Please do not reply directly to this email.
