UDC Update Continued - SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALSREPORT TO: FROM: SUBJECT: MEETING DATE: Commission Memorandum Honorable Mayor and City Commission Tom Rogers, Senior Planner Martin Matsen, Director of Community Development Unified Development Code (UDC) Update Public Hearing Supplemental Information October 16, 2017 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action RECOMMENDED MOTION: N/A. RECOMMENDATION: N/A The attached diagrams illustrate current, proposed zoning transitions, and various community based alternatives in the Unified Development Code update. In addition, staff is providing reference dimensional standards for residential development in Boulder Colorado. Another alternative was suggested by the Planning Board which is not illustrated in these diagrams. This alternative would require a standard 10 foot side yard setback within a transitional area. Please see the Zoning Commission and Planning Board summary provided to the Commission dated July 18, 2017. Staff investigated references to transitional requirements from Boulder Colorado. Based on review of these requirements it appears the X/2 alterative is limited to residential development for their purposes. Staff contacted the Boulder Planning Department and is waiting for confirmation of this determination from the Boulder planning staff. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: Described in the UDC Update staff report. ALTERNATIVES: As determined by the City Commission FISCAL EFFECTS: None identified.
