Subject:Trans rights are human rights
Categories:Public Comment
I am saddened to see the city council drop the ball on preserving trans rights . The ndo made me feel accepted and
supported .. now I'm unsure of my future in bozeman. I work at the university and have dealt with discrimination in my
workplace and with the school. I have been sexually assaulted and raped. I will not use a restroom that disagrees with
my gender identity and if the city decides it wants to be actively negligent in regards to trans rights and we become
persecuted by your police force you can bet there will be lawsuits that follow. I'm unsure what information besides
what's already been presented is required but that seems like a cop out when the stats on trans oppression have been
available for years ...
Trans rights are human rights full stop . If you can't protect the dignity and humanity of trans people than you shouldn't
be part of this city.
Here we are oppressed and fighting to exist and the fact that it has to be thought out makes us sick .
If you'd like me to be present at a future city council meeting I will I just find the lack of action very uninspiring and
humiliating.
A very tired person who happens to be trans which isn't a choice .. which means your decision to join the lawsuit
shouldn't be a choice .....
