Subject:In support of higher density and the Black/Olive Building

Honorable City Commissioners,
We are faced with an uncertain future as rapid growth, an aging population and Climate
Change all come at us with unrelenting speed. We cannot continue to push things aside by forcing growth into the outer areas of Bozeman.
More and more of us would like to live in or close to Downtown.
But I think some reasons have taken less of a center stage.
You see, my wife and I are getting older. Our parents wanted to live in their homes and be
able to walk to the store but were forced to live outside the core and finally to live in retirement areas, with busy suburban roads where one does not walk easily.
More housing downtown is not just for the young or wealthy. It should be available to us all.
We want to live downtown. To walk to the store or down to a coffee shop. To meet friends
and be close to young people to make us feel young, to feel alive.
I’m not sure what we did to the people living around the downtown now, but I know we would be good neighbors.
I would like to repeat our full support for the Black/Olive Building and higher density inside
Bozeman in general.
Thank you for your consideration,
Bill Clem and Bobbi Clem
