Oliver - Black Olive IIFrom:Pete Oliver To:Agenda Subject:Black Olive Date:Monday, October 09, 2017 3:02:50 PM Dear Commissioners: Please deny this latest version of Black Olive that is proposed for 202 South Black Avenue. The design review board has denied approval once again and for good reason: Parking is still an issue. Relative scale to the surrounding neighborhood is still an issue. Aesthetics is still an issue. I believe the City should protect its citizens before catering to a developer at any cost. We all know that growth is inevitable and density is the best answer for fighting sprawl - but we also need to respect those neighborhoods that were here first. I'm not saying we close the door to growth but more focus on transitional zoning, respect for existing neighborhoods, and redevelopment of other areas inside of the city limits like North 7th are an important way to provide density without slowly losing the unique character of the downtown neighborhoods block by block. Once that charm is gone it's gone forever. Thankfully you as Commissioners took on the responsibility of this decision once again. Please deny this project and move quickly on better defining transitional zones before more projects like this wind up on your desk. Thank you for your time. Pete Oliver 413 North Wallace Bozeman
