I urge the city commission to vote no on the Black-Olive building.
I won't reiterate all the arguments against it.
It's clear that the neighbors are nearly unanimous in opposing it. Whether or not it meets development guidelines to the
letter, it will adversely affect the lives of all of these good people, with no lasting benefit of significance to any but the
developer and those like him. I doubt that whoever wrote the guidelines truly envisioned this behemoth.
When the guidelines allow something monstrous, we need to change the guidelines.
Because a thing of ugliness is a scar forever. Like the Pizza Hut debacle of the early 90s, this is one that we can't take
back.
I implore you to vote against the Black Olive building
