Dear Bozeman City Commissioners,
As an MSU professor, I spend my days in Bozeman and love the city. I have my home just outside town, in the
Valley Grove subdivision.
I am writing in support of the request of Matt and Meehee Kirby for a CUP for Cooperative Housing. I have known
Matt and Meehee for 4.5 years. We attend the same church, and I am the faculty advisor of a recognized student
organization for which the Kirbys work on staff. They are wonderful people, kind, generous, hard working,
community minded, and responsible. I have seen them giving their all to improve the lives of students, and I know
that our community is a better place because they live here. Their proposal to share a home with Jesse and Megan
Radoslovich, in the Baxter Meadows subdivision near Chief Joseph Middle School, would be a win for Bozeman as
well as for both families. I absolutely trust them to do a great job of maintaining the home, and I believe that their
community spirit would be a plus for the neighborhood. Both families would be located conveniently for their work
on and around campus. This plan would allow them to carpool, reduce emissions by using less fuel, and contribute
less to the growing problem of traffic in Bozeman.
Thank you all for your kind attention to my letter, for your consideration o the Kirbys' request, and for your
continual striving to make Bozeman an affordable and enjoyable place to live and work. I understand that my words
must weigh less in your consideration since I am not a city resident, but I do have a stake in the quality of life here
in Bozeman, and felt that I should share with you what I know about the Kirbys.
Sincerely,
Charles Kankelborg
