Site Visitor Name: Kim Kusak Site Visitor Email: kusak@montana.edu Dear Commissioner Mehl: I wanted to make you aware of a situation that we are dealing with out in Baxter Meadows. As you know, many of the main arteries in the northwest are currently closed. Now Baxter Lane is being worked on and the detour is on Equestrian Lane. This normally a residential street that goes by a park and is frequented by many children. If you drive Baxter at all, you know that this is a heavily used road with semis, heavy equipment and many many vehicles coming through each hour. This is not a sustainable situation but I have been told the detour could last as long as 3 months. I have witnessed several unsafe incidents take place over the past 1 1/2 weeks. Our neighborhood is simply not equipped to safely handle this type of traffic. There is a constant flow, day and night. More than anything I am asking for help to assure that the Baxter project is completed as fast as possible. People are running over curbs and driving 40+ mph. Please help us remedy this unsafe situation as fast as possible. Yes, the police are aware and offing as much assistance that they can but there is only so much they can do. I tried to include a few pictures of the vast quantities of traffic and of the large heavy equipment coming through but I could not attach them here. I would love to send them to you through email if possible. Thank you! Kim Kusak
