Dear Mary,
On behalf of the citizens of Bozeman, I write this letter to thank you for your
service to our community. Your work has strengthened Bozeman and the entire Gallatin
Valley. We are appreciative of and impressed by your more than twenty years of service
on behalf of your non-profit employers, really on behalf of us.
We note that you have been the Development Director for several local nonprofits
including the Museum of the Rockies, Montana State University School of Nursing, and
Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter. In addition, you have served as Board President for
the Montana Nonprofit Association. That work served to stabilize and grow some of the
largest charitable organizations in the Gallatin Valley. While no one individual can take
responsible for the success of an organization, your role in fundraising for these groups
was an indispensable part of their growth.
It is also significant that you nurtured initiatives to empower local youth, including
Girls for a Change and the Turner Youth Development Initiative (a.k.a. Bozeman Youth
Initiative).
It must have seemed natural, then, that you would take on the challenge of being.the
Executive Director of Eagle Mount Bozeman. In that role you were successful in
preserving this great organization that ensures that people with disabilities can enjoy the
mountains and rivers of our home. To many of us your work has seemed supernatural.
So, at the time of your retirement, it is fitting that we should thank you for giving
so much of yourself to make our community a better place for all. As the Mayor of
Bozeman and on behalf of all of the citizens of Bozeman. THANK YOU.
With all best wishes in the future,
Carson Taylor
