SUBJECT: Continuation of Provisional Adoption of Ordinance 1980, Revisions to Article 38.43, Affordable Housing to Address Condominiums Text Amendment, Application 17381. MEETING DATE: September 18, 2017
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Action RECOMMENDATION: That the City Commission continue the advertised public hearing to October
2, 2017.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to continue the advertised public hearing on Application 17381 to October 2, 2017.
BACKGROUND: The City Commission directed staff to prepare a text amendment to Article 38.43,
Affordable Housing to remove condominiums as a trigger for compliance with the article. Staff has
prepared the requested ordinance and advertised public hearings. The Zoning Commission hearing was advertised for September 5, 2017. On that date, the Zoning Commission did not have a quorum present. Therefore, they could not act on the text amendment. Their consideration has been rescheduled to September 19th. They must act prior to the City Commission’s consideration of the amendment. Staff
suggests moving the City Commission’s consideration of the amendment to October 2, 2017.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None determined at this time. ALTERNATIVES: 1) Continue Ordinance 1980 to October 2, 2017.
2) Continue Ordinance 1980 to another date determined by the Commission.
