In response to the Mobile Vending regulations I am requesting a 1-year trial special
use permit from the hours of 4PM onward on Main Street. The side streets are too
short to be able to successfully parallel park and the majority of businesses that the
fashion trucks partner with are also on main. Also there's more vacant storefronts
on main street where we would likely not be blocking businesses.

1. The addition of an off location food truck park will relieve the pressure of
main street.
2. If parking is an issue then any vehicle over 24 feet shouldn't be able to park.
I am a citizen of Bozeman too and typically eat at the location I am parked in
front of, then we move every 2 hours.
3. If safety is an issue then we will have people enter in through the side door.
There isn't sidewalk congestion by the fashion trucks because people
immediately go inside the truck.
4. I've had a lot of successful events with brick and mortars on main street
R
downtown and would like to continue that between the hours of 4pm
onward. N
S. Finally in order to really make the trucks safety compliant we need the $$$
capital to renovate our current trucks to vend out of the side or we could
possible incorporate a spiral staircase in the back that way people are not
stepping into the street. To renovate a door on a truck could cost anywhere
from 5,000 to 9,000 on a step van.
6. Most alley way parking is only offered for employees and is not available for
anyone else. This is not a viable option.
7. Also,we are only asking for special use permit for the months of May,June,
July and August. We are not trying to utilize Main Street as our main source
of income,we've signed up for as many festivals and events off main as we '
can.
8. Everyone will benefit if we have more retail downtown with more style and
price point diversity. Used car dealerships, fast food restaurants and hotels
all do better if they stick together.
9. 1 will personally help manage the Bozeman Mobile Association and help the
city for following years.
In sum, I think we do a trial run for 1 year to gain the appropriate feedback needed
to make an assessment for 2018. 1 agree that it's a possible slippery slope but if
there's only a few special use permits for NON-food, clothing and accessories we can
end it there.

We all agree that selling clothing inside an enclosed truck on main street from 9pm
to tam isn't feasible or safe for anyone involved. If we are going to go down the s
safety route, I am scared for my personal safety to vend from 9pm - 2am on Main.
We are asking for a sliver of the pie and a shot at entrepreneurship in Bozeman. 3
