Subject:Notifying the neighborhood

Dear Editor :
We have been trying to keep up with the evolution of the City of Bozeman; and it's lure to
developers who find it irresistible, and financially profitable, to build high-rise buildings in the
core of the city.
It seems apparent that the city feels, and the judge concurs, that notifying neighborhoods by
posting Public Notices in our local paper regarding the fact is a totally acceptable way of
letting people know what is in the offing. If there is not an ordinance that requires the city to
notify those homeowners within a certain radius by personal mail delivered by the post office
regarding these developments about how their lives will change, then there should be.
Keep in mind that not everyone takes the paper, or reads all the Public Notices... although
they should at least, take the paper. It is an unusually good publication.
If I am mistaken about this requirement, please accept my apology. If I am right, then lets give
homeowners the consideration they deserve.
