RE: Detached ADU public meeting August 24th, 2018
Dear City Clerk's Office,
My name is Chris Clow and I am the owner of 721 South Grand Avenue. I am in support of changing the city code
to allow detached ADU's in my neighborhood.
The reasons for this are....
1. Rising property taxes have made it expensive to keep my home. Building an ADU would help defray this cost by
providing a rental income stream.
2. My mother and my wife's mother are aging and may need to live with us a some point in the future. A detached
ADU would prevent having to consider housing our mother(s) in an assisted living facility.
3. Urban infill reduces urban sprawl. Growth is inevitable in Bozeman. Urban infill would reduce pressure to build
subdivisions on open land in the Gallatin Valley.
4. ADU's reduce commute times for its dwellers going to and from work.
