Dear City Commission, I bought a yearly pass to the Bozeman Swim Center to swim in the 50 meter pool. Have
been swimming almost every week. My wife swims three days a week, and never were we notified that the swim
center was changing from a 50 meter to a 25 meter pool. No public notices in the swim center, no email to the
membership, no chance for the public to weigh in on a city owned facility. This is no the way to do business. If the
swim team wants a 25 meter pool, budget it for the new high school. High school swim team members come and
go very few years. I have been swimming at the pool for 15 years and enjoying a precious resource that the 50
meter pool is.
Why was there no public notice of this possible change to a city owned facility? Why did a private swim group, the
Barracuda's, have more say than the swim center members? Why was there not a notice put up in the swim center
for public comment. Why was the membership not invited to talk about the changes, while the private swim team
was?This is a backroom deal that never would have passed if it had seen the light of day. This is not ok and I am
not happy,
Why did you do this without public notice, - especially to the sim center membership or pool patrons?
