Bozeman City Commission Meeting August 14, 2017
I am a member of the Bozeman Historic Preservation Advisory Board and the Bozeman Preservation
Advocacy Group (BPAG) and advocate for Bozeman’s historic character and heritage. Thank you for
addressing the need for a process to affirm and readopt Subchapter 4B within the NCOD guidelines. As a
member of the BPAG group, we have seen interest from the community on this topic at two discussions
of 4B that were hosted by BPAG this past winter and spring. Both discussions were very well-attended. It
is evident the community is interested in participating in this adoption process.
This readoption would also benefit from the overview of a qualified expert, which would be a Bozeman
Historic Preservation Officer. With this position currently vacant, I think it would be beneficial to wait to
adopt Subchapter 4B until we have input and advice from our “to be hired” expert. Thank you for taking
the time to address this very important and significant change to the NCOD.
