Site Visitor Name: Katy Osterloth Site Visitor Email: kataytaysky@yahoo.com Hi there! I am the parent of a Bozeman Barracuda swim kid and I am writing in support of the bulkhead for the pool at the Bozeman Swim Center. This bulkhead will allow us to expand our ability to host meets during what is called short course season - when the swimmers must swim in a 25 yard pool. As it is currently, when we host meets during short course the times are not official times for USA Swimming and this hurts the swimmers and makes our meets less attractive. We are also not an option to host the State Championships for short course, and we would like to have the business that event would generate. When we host swim meets (we host about 3-5 events each year) we have over 300 swimmers come from around the state. This contributes significantly to many local businesses - as each swimmer brings a family who needs lodging, meals, groceries and gas. Our swimmers would also have the benefit of training in the appropriate size pool for the season. In addition, this will allow for more lanes for lap swimming for the community in general. As it is now there are often a few lanes for swimming with the rest marked off for play swim. We could have one whole end of the pool (25 yards long) just for lap swimming. Thank you for your consideration! Katy Osterloth
