Those being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, Cit~r Attorney
Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Walter DRVis and the Clerk, when the
following proceedinp::s were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Landoe, seconded bY' Commis~1ioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch,
Commissioner Sorenc'on and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Applica~on for City License
The application of the Modle Barber Shop for a City License was presented and read.
It was moved by Commis doner ~oreT1son, seconded b~' Commisslor'er Landoe that the applica-
tion' be approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting liye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner
Landoe; those voting No, none.
Report
The report of the Director of Finance was presented. It was moved by Commissioner
Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the report be accepted and ordered filed
and the motion was carried b:" the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
Busch, Commissioner Landoe and Commism oner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 513 -- Parking Maintenance Assessment
The Manager stated that the resolution levying the assessment for the careof park-
ing maintenance districts for the year 1942, in the amount of $3,065.46, had been pre-
pared. He presented Resolution No. 513, entitled:

The Manager stated the resolution levying the assessment for Street Sprinkling Dis-

tricts for the year 1942, in the amount of $1,033.25, had been prepared. He presented

Resolution No. 515 -- Release of Rt-of-Way ~asement
The City Attorney stated that
the Right-of-Way Easement for a water ditch given
by Earl Dawes for R. S. Dawes is of no value to the City of Bozeman as the ditch as con-
structed is not on the Dawes property, but on Cj" ty property. He presented and read a

Band for Concerts & Roundup
Mr. Cliff Vance and "Bud" Lowe, of the Junior Chamber of i.Jommerce, appeared before
the Commission to ask if the City Could give financial help for the organization of a band
to play concerts and also assist with the Bozeman Roundup. The gentlemen stated that due
to war conditions it is very difficult to secure a band for the coming rodeo. They were
informed that some money would be available for band concerts during the coming year if
an adult band could be organized; but that the City could not legally allocate money from
the bnad fund for organize. tion purposes. The IDa tter was referred to the Ci ty Manager for
investiga tion.
W & C 1942
As reques ted by the Commis sioners, Mr. .Toe Livers, appeared before the Commis 3 ion to
state his reasons for asking for the construction of a walk at 1104 South Fifth Avenue.
Mr. Livers stated the walk, if constructed, would be used by several people, including
himself; that he has college boys who 8tay at his house, and that other people in the
vicinity have college stud'''nts who would use the walk. Mr. Livors said that the owner
of a corner lot should realize that walks would probably be built and charged to the
property and said further that he felt there would always be objections from the property
owner to the construction of this partic'ular piece of sidewalk.
The matter was di scu ssed b;", the Commis s ion, and it was dec ided 1:0 have the order stand
to construct the walk.
