August 14th, 1942.
The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, August 14th, 1942, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, City Attorney Aitken,
City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe, and the
Clerk, when the followlnr- proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regl~lar session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried by the followinp,: Aye and No vote; thos e voting Aye being Mayor BuSCh,
Commissioner Sorenson anJ Commis:lioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Ordinance No. 719 -- Final Passage
The Manager stated ttlis was the time and place set for public hearings and final
passage of Ordinance No. 719, the appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year ending
June 30th, 1943. He presented affidavi t of publica tion of the N,., tice and also Ordinance
No. 719, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE, }<;TC.,
OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF 1'lm CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA FOR THr~ B'ISCAL
TI~AR ENDING ~JNE 30th, 1943.
It was moved by Commissionnr Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the
Ordinance be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, ComITissioner Sorenson and Commissioner
Landoe; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 519 -- Tax Levy
The Manager introduced Resolution No. 519, the resolution fixing the tax levy for
the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1943, entitled:
A RESOLUTIOlT OF THE Cm1MIS~:nmr OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:)ETT<RMINING THE AMOUNT
OF CITY TAXES POR ALL PURPOSES, GENERAL AND SPECIAL, TO BE LEVIED AND ASSESSED
ON TAXABLE PROPERTY IN rJ'F.:E CITl OF BOZ'-'I,,~M; J STATE OF' MONTANA, IcOR THE FISCAL
YEAR ENDING JUNE 30th, 1943.
Resobltion No. 519 was then read, and it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded
by Commissioner Sorenson that the Resol1Jtion be passed and adopted and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor ~lsch, Com~~ssioner
Landoe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.

The Manager read a communication from members of the Fire Department opposing and
protesting the schedule of hours for the operation of 'the radio by their Department that
had been sup:~es ted by the Police Department.
The Manager s ta ted tha t, in accordance wi th the rules and regula tions prepared by
I/[anager Lake and approved by the City Commission, November 28 th, 1941, he had ins truc ted
tbe members of the Fire Depart~en t to plan a schedlJle in co-opera tion wi th the Police
Department for the operation of the Police Radio Transmitter and that evidently this com-
Mlnication from the Fire Department was written as an appeal to the City Commission to
relieve them from the necessity of obeying his instructions.
The matter was thoroughly discussed by the Commission, and it was moved by Com-
missioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the matter be taken under ad-
visement and the motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye
being Mayor Thlsch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.

There being no further business to come before the Cowmission at this time, it was
moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner ~orenson that the mee[ng adjourn
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
