HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-10-02 I I I 47~1 Bozeman, Montana October 2nd, 1942 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, October 2nd, 1942, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, City Engineer Thorpe, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk, when the following proceedlnga were had to-wi t: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commlssioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson the t the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following A.ye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, 'Commissioner Sorenson, and Commissioner Landoe; those votlng No, none. Bills for the Month Claims Nos. 3593 to 3730 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Cemetery Gene ra 1 Library Park Water Airport Ceme tery Suspense Cemetery Permanent Care Garbage P. L. & P. War Bond S. I. D. Fire Relief $ 748.73 8,022.89 739.76 592.88 15,860.09 20.00 100.00 5,000.00 861.20 9,272.74 405.00 .98 247.42 $ 41,871.69 Total The Manager s ta ted he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recommended that warrants be drawn for their pay- ment. He called attention to the fact that approximately $30,OiJO.00 of the total amount was for fund transfers perviously all thorized and tha t not more than $12,000.00 represented operating cost for September. After examination of the claims in detail by the Commis- sion, it was moved by Cow~issioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that warrants be drawn for their payment and the motion was carrj.ecl by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner .Landoe; those voting No, none. Applications for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Shamrock Rooms City Taxi Service Nelson-Ricks Creamery Bozeman Quality Market Bozeman Cold Storage It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the ap- plications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye beIng Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Com- missioner Landoe; those voting No, none. . Reports The following reports for the month of September were presented and read: Cashier Librarian Fire Cldef Police Judge Cemetery Board We. ter Collec tor It was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the re- ports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. 472 Appointment -- Dye to Airport Board The Manager read a communication from the Gallatin Airport Board announcing their appointment of E. R. Dye as the fifth member of the Board, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Leon D. Conkling. It was moved by Commissioner Sorerson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the appointment be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor BUSCh, Commisfoloner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Sale of Water Pump The Manager stated that Fairbanks-Morse & Company had wired to ask if the City's 125 h.p. pump was still for sale and also the lowest acceptable price. After discussion the Manager was instructed to Invlte the Company to make us an offer for this piece of equipment.
