HomeMy WebLinkAbout1943-10-09 ,', I I 4?B Bozeman, Montana October 9th, 194~/ The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in r8gular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, October 9th, 194~at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, City Attorney Aitken, Ci ty Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Wal ter Davis, Ci ty Engineer 'l'};orpe, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that the minutes be approved as read and the mo- tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson .and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of September were presented and read: Enp;ineer Health Officer Chief of Police Emp10ymen t Officer Director of Finance It was Y'!oved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the re- ports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, ComMissioner Landoe; those voting No, none. Bids for Slaurrh ter House Building The M8:nager stated that in accordance with the request of the Army Engineers for the City to remove the Slaughter House Building located on the tract of land west of the Air- port, advertisements calling for bids for the proposed work to be opened at this meeting had been inserted in two local papers, but that no bids had been received to date. He presented and read the affidavit of publica tion of the Notice to bidders and explained that some inquiries had been made. No official action was taken. Armory -- Leasing by City The Manager stated that he had received a reply from Mr. L. H. Richardson, of the Montana Armory Board, in connection with the City's suggestion that it be allowed to lease the drill hall and community room in substantially the same manner as the AAA h8d leased the premises now occupied by them, and Mr. Richardson had stated in his reply that the drill hall and comnn.mi ty room could be leased on these terms and urged tha t the City lease the garages also. The Manager stated further that he had discussed the matter with the City Attorney and they had decided it might be unwise to lease the drill hall and community room before Jan- uary 1st, or until after legislative action, mentioned as possible by Mr. Richardson, had been taken. Mr. ~linnell said that the City Attorney had written Mr. Richardson to that effect and had made an offer of $50.00 per month for the leasing of the garages. The Commission expressed approval of the action taken. Adjournment There- being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commls sioner Sorenson tha t the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried b~T the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Ma~,ror Busch, CommissIoner Soreneon and Commissioner Landoe; those voting No, none.- ~t// 'I~~~~~ c~ Ma yor
