I just learned about the proposed change to the Swim Center's 50 meter pool and am voicing my
concern. I understand that the demands on the pool are increasing but splitting the pool in half
diminishes the quality of the community's swimming experience. The argument that the pool split will
increase swimmer access to lanes and decrease swimmer congestion...will do just the opposite.
Aggregating people into shorter distances will only increase swimmer frustrations with crowding and not
provide a good experience, for anyone. Not to mention we lessen what we have - something unique to
Montana, and to the West. Please do not cut the pool in half! Betsy Hicks
