HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-11-20 482 Bozeman, Montana November 20th, 1942 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, November 20th, 1942, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Landoe, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Busch that the minutes be approved as read; the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and those voting No, none. Armory -- Lep:ion Auxiliary Dance The Mana~er stated he had a request from the American Legion Auxiliary for the use of the Armory Drill Hall for a dance to promote the sale of War Stamps and Bonds. The Commission was agreeable thAt a charge should not be made to the Auxiliary for this dance prOVided the City is not put to any expense in connection with the matter. Petitions for Snow Removal The Manager stated he had petitions from many property owners on Cleveland Avenue between Willson and Sixth Avenues, requesting,that the City's snow plow be used for snow removal from sidewalks abutting their premises during the winter of 1942-43. It was also explained that similar petitions are now being circu1a ted on South Willson between Main Street and Cleveland. Commissioner Landoe entered and was noted present. Sleepers for Fire Department The Manager reported that as yet he had not been able to secure volunteer firemen to sleep in-the Firemen's Dormitory. Armory Lease of Community Room The Manager repnrted that Mr. Lighter of the AAA had reported that the matter of leasing the Community Room by his organization was being taken up with AAA authorities. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was rroved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting riye being Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
