The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, December 4th, 1942, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being
presen t were Mayor Busch, C'ommis sioner Sorenson and Commis sioner Lsndoe, City A ttorne y
Ai tken, Ci ty Manager Quinnell, Direc tor of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer Thorpe and
the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit:

The minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commis flioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
Bills for the Month
Claims Nos. 3868 to 3981 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

Contracts
The contracts for furnishing ammonia by the Pennsylvania Salt ManufactlJring Company
and cflOlorine by the Hooker Electrochemical Company for the year 1943 were presented. The
Man ager s ta ted the contrac ts were the same as in former years and the Cornmis si on was
agreeable for the Manager to sign the contracts for The City of Bozeman.

Rates for use of Armory
The fees to charge for use of the Drill Hall, Community Room and the Garages at the
Armory were again discussed. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Com-
missioner Landoe that the following rates be in effect.

The following applications for abatement of 1942 special assessment of taxes were
presented and read:

The applica tions for abatement were examined by the Commis sion, where1Jpon, it was
moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commis~ioner Sorenson that the applications for
abatement be approved and the Director of Finance be inst~lcted to make the proper cor-
rections on the tax records and the motion was carried by tho following Aye and No vote;
those vo ting Aye being Mn yor Busch, Commis sioner Sorenson and Commiss ioner Landoe; those
voting No, none.
Resolution No. 523 -- Delinouent Taxes
The Manager presented the delinquen t tax lis t for 1942, toge ther with a resolution
cert! ying the delinquen t taxes to the County Clerk and Recorder and the Coun ty 'l'reasurer.
He presented and read Resolution No. 523, ontitled:
A RESOLUTION 01:" THE COMT'ITISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DECLARING CERTAIN
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AND INSTALLMENTS OF SPECIAL ASSESSMEWrS, DUE AND
PAYABLE NOVEMBER 30th, 1942, AND UNPAID AS OF 'rIM'DA'rE, AND CERTAIN OTHER
SPECIAL ASSESSMEN'I'S AND INSTALLMENTS OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS, DUE AND PAY-
ABLE NOVEMBER 30th, 1942, AND UNPAID, DELINQUENT, AS PROVIDED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 594, ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF TAXES xx xxx , AND THE

AND SECTION 5251, POLITICAL CODE, R.C.III. 1935.

Report of Recreation Board Meeting
The minutes of the Board of Public Recreation's meeting held on December 3rd, 1942
were read. The Manager call~ attention to the fact that as a war economy measure the
rink at Beall Park would only be flooded to one-fourth its regular size, would be open
from 3:30 to 6:00 P.M. on week days and from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturdays and
Sundays, and no fee would be chnrged.
The Commis sion expressed approval of the 8C tion taken bv the Board.
Meeting of Executive Co~rrittee -- ~lnicipal Lea~ue.
The Manager stated tly!t the Legislative Committee of the Montana Municipal League
is to meet j.n Helena, Sa tlJrday, December 12 th, 1942, and tha t many topics of interes t
and concern to all cities would be discussed.
After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner
Sorenson that it being in the public Interest, City Manager Quinnell and City Attorney
Aitken be authorized to attend this meeting and their expenses be paid from the General
Fund and the motion was carried b? the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being
Mayor Busch, Commissioner Sorenson and CO-:'l1missioner Landoe; those voting No, none.
