Those being present were Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, Director of Finance Walter :Javis, and the Clerk, when the the followIng proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by CommisfJioner Sorenson thct the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch; Co~~is8ioner Landoe and Co~missioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Claims for the Month Claims Nos. 2334 to 2498 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Ceme tery Fire Gen era 1 Library Park Street iNa ter P. L. & P. Cemetery Suspense Cern. Perm. Care GarbaGe Airport $ 1,098.78 1,218.33 4,157.57 696.98 1,790.43 2,074.70 1,930.80 42.21 130.00 150.00 760.00 6.05 $ 14,055.85 Total The Manager stated he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and lawful claims against The City of Bozeman and recol11n'!ends that warrants be drawn for their payment. After examina tion of the c 181ms in detail by the Comrr'ls ~don, it was moved by Commis sioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Landoe that warrants be drawn for their payment and tho motion was carried by the fo llowinp; Aye and No vote; thos e vo ting Aye be ing Mayor Busch, Commissioner Landoe and Commissioner Sorenson; those votlne; No, none. Waste Paper Collection Dr. III. O. Otheim, Lyall Millor, and James Kurtz appeared before the Comrdssion in regard to the Boy Scout Paper Drive to be held on Satl1rday, Febrl1ary 7th, 1942. They stat d the recent nllotations on paper prices were f.o.b. destination and this did not leave much money for the Scouts, after the truck and driver were paid for; that they would like to have the City furnish a truck with a driver without charge. After considerable disclission, an understanding was reached whereby the City ~uld, 'Until further notice, dona te the use of a truck for one clay (Sa turday) each week, together wi th the gas and oil necessary for its operation; provided tha t the truck mu:'t be used solely for the collection of waste pap"lr, and th9t the truck driver's wages must be paid by the Boy SCOlJ.t orp;anizat:l.on, out of money received from paper sales. It was felt thrt the paper should sell for an 8mOlmt sufficient to finance tl1e actllal cost of collect1.on ancl transportation ch'0rges, exclusive of the boy scout's work; and that if this could be arranged the City's truck donation wOl,lr-i be, in effect, a sizeable contri- bution to the funds of the Scout Organization.
