HomeMy WebLinkAbout1942-04-17 422 Bozeman, Montana April 17th, 1942 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, April 17th, 1942, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Busch, COYf1JTlissioner Landoe, Commissioner Sorenson, City Attorney Aitken, Director of F'inance Walter Davis and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Comm:i.ssioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson thnt the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; th.ose voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commis:'lioner Sorenson and Commis.2ioner Land00; those voting No, none. Application for City License The application of J. ~n. Herrin for a city license was presented and read. It was moved by Commis Gioner Sorenson, seconded by Commis sioner Landoe tha t the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Busch, Commis sioners Landoe and Sorenson; tlwse votinl! No, none. Claim -- Folice Car The claim of the Northern Automobile Company in the amotmt of $1104.55 for the car for the Police Department was presented and read. After examination of the claim by the Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Landos, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the claim be allo',':ed subject to the approval of the Ci ty Manager and a warrant drawn for its payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being l.':a yor BlIsch, Commis."1 loners Lando e and Sorenson; those votIng No, none. Communications -- Reque8t for Water -- Pollee Radio -- Civ11lan ~efense A communication from WPA of Butte office was read, requesting the City to furnish water for WPA ~arden to raise vG~etables for school lunches in the County. The matter was discll.ssed, and it was decided to investip;ate th.e matter flJrther before a decision is reached, and it was moved by Commissioner Landoe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson tha t the ma tter be tabled and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; tbose voting Aye being Ma':or BUSCh, CommissIoners Landoe and Sorenson; those votlng No,none. A letter from the Transmitter EqLJipmcnt Mfr,. Co., was read, stating that due to their inability to get material, it would be at least 3 to 4 months before they would get suf- ficient material to complete the police radio. A communication from the Office of Commander of Civilian Defense was read, stating the office would need ~~IOOO to carryon their necessary functlons; thAt the share for The City of Bozeman would be $300. The matter was discussed, and it was pointed out The Clty of Bozeman has no funds available, and th8t the City will do their share when the need arls83.
