The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission
Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, March 14, 1941, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those
being present were Mayor Eoey, Commissioner BUSCh, Commissioner Sorenson, City Attorney
Ai tken, City Manager Lake, Director of I"inance 'Nalter Davis and the Clerk when the fol-
lowing proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session and it was moved by Commissioner Busch,
seconded b:i Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read and the motion
was car'ried by the foll,)wlng Aye and No va to; those vo ting Aye being Mayor Rosy, ""om-
missioner Busch and Commissioner Sorenson; those vo ting No, none.
Bids for 'rrucks
The Manager stated tha t this was the tiJl'e and place set for the opening of b:::is

After hearing the representa tives of the bidders, the bids subrni tted were taken
under advisement.

~<,~r. II. Porter, Ro:r Malsor, S. Doornbos, J. A. Love lace, members of' the Road Com-
mlttee of the Chamber of COlYilllOrCe appeared before the Commis,lion to request the Ci ty
of Bozeman to improve North Rouse Street which connects wi th the Bridger Canyon Road.
The Ci ty Attorney stated tha t according to the law, the road beIng a feeder road and
connect:tng with an arterialhir;hway, that Ule road should be maintained by the County
from funds received from li~ense plate money.
The matter was discussed furth8r, amI it was decided to first asl{ the State IIigh-
way to make t:'~is improvement since it connects a state Lighway with a main U. S. Highway.
Bids for Chlorinator & &~illloniator
The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the opening of bids
for a Chlorina tor and an Annnonia tor for the North. Bide Heservoir. He proseD ted affi-
davit of publication of the Notice to bidders, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner

machines in the City and in the State that have inspection service and The City of Boze-
man woul~l probably get more regular inspection of their machine, and the Wallace-Tiernan
is an old established Company ro after full consideration of specifications presented,

Bid for Garbace Hauling
Mr. Julian ralos appeared bei'ore the Connnission to discuss his bid for garbae;e
hauling for 1941. l'/'r. Miles t bid for this work was ;~9, 77 fJ. CJO, but a fter discus sing the
pr1ce, as well as the requiremen ts by the proposed con trac t, the Commis::::ion agreed to some
modifications of tb,Gse requirements, and Mr. 1'~iles then asked to be permated to change
his bid to ;~;9,12b.OO, and. since l!Ir. rHlcs VIas the only bidder, it was moved bJ~ Commissioner

Since the garbage hauling contract was let by contract to Mr. Miles ~r another year,
the City w'i.i..ll have no need. for garbage trucks, v.rher~upon, it was moved by Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commis sioner Busch that all bids .for trucks be rej ec ted, and th.e
