HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-06-16 324 Bozeman, Montana June 16 th, 1941 '1'he Commlssion of '1ihe City of Bozeman met in an adjourned session, Monday evening, ,Tune 16th, 1941, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Hoe:r, Commissi:n er Busch, Commissioner Sorenson, Cit;t Attorney Aitken, City Manager Lake and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: Lease of Armory Thlilding T.rr. L. H. Richardson, Chairman, r-Cr. John A. Stagg and T.1r. Scott P. Hart, members of the Montana State Armory Board, appeared before the Conunission and presented pr.oposals for tIje leas Inp; of t.he StR. te Armory Bullding now under cons truc tion to the City of Bozeman. Various proposals and counter proposals were presented and discussed, and after a three hour conference, it was ten ta ti ve ly agreed, trm t The Oi ty of Bozeman lease, for a perlod of twen ty-fi ve years, the above men tioned Armory bu ild:tn,z for such us es as will be stated in tbe contract, and secondary only to the needs of the U. s. armed forces, also to be covered by this contract; the rental to be about~2,OOO.OO cash, ma thema tically calcula ted and es tima ted tl1a tit toGe ther wi tb ~;~lCOO per annum pald by the State of Montana, will repay to the Board during the lease term of twenty-five ?ears, the actual cost of construction. In addition to the cash rental the City shall hlrnish light, heat, etc., and janitor service for its own needs; Armory Board to furnish jani tor service for needs of armed forces, and take care of heating plant full tlme. At the expiration of the contract, and after all forms of indebtedness has been paid, the City shall continue to have the use of the bu:1.1ding under the same rule as before, but shall not be required to pay rental, other than furnishing of lip:ht, heat, etc., and the cost of maintaining the buildinG in cood repair. The City Attorney was inst!'1Jcted to draw up a contract in conformity to these a~reements and terms. There beIng no furtl-:er business to come bc-;fore the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Soren2cm, seconded b;.' Commissioner Busch that the Tn eeting adjourn and the motion was carr:1.ed by the following r"ye and No iIOte; those voting Aye being r',~ayor Hoey, Commissioner Busch and Commis,::ioner .::iorenson; those voting No, none.
