HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-12-27 266 Bozeman, l'vlontana December 27, 1940 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, CitJ~ Hall Building, Friday evening, December 27,1940 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. '1'hose being present were Mayor Rosy, Co~r.J.issioner Busch, Co:mmissioner Sorenson, City Manager Lake, Director of Finance ':fial ter Davis and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had: rrhe minutes of the last regular session were read and it was Iv;oved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Commi ssloner Soren son tha t the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried b'y the following Aye and No vote; tL.ose vo ting Aye being Mayor Eoey, Commiss loner Bus ch and Commissioner Sorenson; tr.ose vo ting No, none. Request for Parking Privilege Dr. F. I. Sabo, representing the Gallatin County IVIedical Association, appeared before the CommIssion, and requested that the Cit;r Commission make a concession to the M.D. 's so there would be no parking restrictions on their cars on side streets. Dr. Sabo stated this request was made 1n order to save time on emergency calls. The Commission told Dr. Sabo that the matter wOlJld be taken under advisement and he would be tnforr'ed of t:r~ei r dec:! sion. Request for Zoning Restrictions Mr. and M.rs. C. V. Puller, Francl s Bea t ty, Iv'lrs. 1y~. D. McVey appeared before the Commission and Bflked that restrictions be made to prevent Uw moving of old houses into the "Bn Residence District west of Eighth Avenue, or set a valuation on residences to be built or moved into this district. Those present were informed, by the Commission, that the law did not permit cities to set a valuation on new buildings, but they could be assured that everything would be done to prevent the building of undesirable buildings in this district. Application for State Liquor License Tho applica tion for s ta te liquor license for the Eagle's Club was presented. Offer to Sell Pump Tl,e Manager stated that trle Clt:l of Earlowton was go::ng to drill a water well, and tLe y might be :1.n teres ted in purchasing the ci ty-owneu pump; tha t wi th the presen t arumm t of wator owned by the City, it is not likely that the pump will be used in the near fu ture . After discussion by tile Commis sion, the C1 ty Manager was ins tructod to communica te wi th the Mayor of Harlowton ami to describe our pump and motor 80 that if it fits their needs, we may have a chance to sell this equipment to them.
