HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-01-12 144 ljozeman, Mc,ntana January 12, 1940 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in ftle Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, January 12, 1946, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Those being present were Mayor Hoew, Commissioner BusCh, City Manager Henderson, Director of Finance Walter Dav1 B, and the acting clerk. Those being a bsent were Comm1ssiorer Lake end City Attorney Aitken. The following Proceedings were had, to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded t'7 Mayor H6sytba t the minutes b~ approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Rosy and Commissioner Busch. those voting No, none. Reports The following report. were presented and examJned by the Commission: December reports of the Health Of~icer and The Employment Officer Annual reports of the Plunbing Inspector, theBuilding Inspector and the Water Collectcr. It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Hoey, that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried. Commissioners Hoey & Busch voting A'-:re; voting No, none. Ordinance No. 697 - Appropriation Ordinance The Manager stated the. t, in accordance with law, he had prepared a tentative budget for 1940. He presented his recommended budget to the Conmi1ssion and the same was explained and discussed in detail. After thorough discussion of the recommended budget, the Commission stated that they had no changes or amendments to make, whereupon the Manager presented Ordinance No. 697 and explained that this Ordinance might be provisionally passed at this time, that a date nmat be set for public bearing on the proposed budget, and that final until adoption of the Ordinance could not be made after such pUblic haaring and ~OUld not be ~ ' made unt11 after the first Monday in February, 1940. Ordinance No. 697 is -,entitled; AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE, ET ., Oli' THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, l"!ONTANA FOR '!HE FISCAL YE ::r. 1940. It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Roey, tha t this Ordi 3.nce be pro- visionally passed, that January 26tn, 1940 and February 2nd, 1940 be set a..i.. dates for public hearings on the said Ordinance, and that Feb. 9th, 1940 be set as tfhe date' for ~ { 1 I I 1 fi 1 f th 0 di nd. t tic 145 na passage 0 . e r nanee a. he mo n was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Hoey' and Commissioner Busch; those voting No being none and. those not voting being Commissioner Lake, he being absent. Garbage Collection - Plans The Manager stated that definit6 plane should be considered as to the methods to be provided for collection f acilitles under the new Gar'bage Ordinance recently adopted. The Manager was instructed to inter'view Mr. J'ulian Miles with a view to mrking out some pla., if satisfactory terms can be arranged, Whereby Mr. Miles could be hired, with the equip- ment he now has on hand, to provide the necessary facilit1es. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission a t this time, it was moved by Connnissioner- Busch, seconded by Mayor Hoel' that the meeting adjourn and the motion carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being M~or Hoey and Commissioner Busdh; those voting No, none.
