Those being present were Ma~hoey, Commissioner BusCh, City Manager M. E. Henderson, Director of Finance those being absent were COnmUssloner Lake and City Attorl,iey Aitken Walter Davis, and the Acting clerkl1 when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read ani it was moved by Commissioner Busch, aecorded by Mayor Roey that the minutes be a pproved as read a.nd the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Hoey and Commissioner Busch: those voting No, none. Repor ts The following reports were presented and examined by the Commission: December reports of the Director of Finance and the CaShier Annual report of the Cemetery Board Memorandum report from the City Manager on crop returns for 1939 on the ft1l1l1iams- Ruff" ranche s. It was moved by Commissioner Busch, aeconded by Mayor Roey, that the reports be approved and ordered filed, and the motion was carried. Roey & Busch voting Aye; those voting No, none. Water Test Report The Manager presented the report of the State Board of Health on water samples sent to them for analysis on January 8, 1939.. He also called attention to a letter from the State Board of Health regarding contemplated installs. tion of equipment for treatment of water from the Lyman Creek Supply in 1940. The letter referred to was to the effect that such treatment of Bozemn water supply would be necessary before the wa.ter fromthls City could be given more than a "Provisional" rating a s to its being satisfactory for use in interstate co~rce. Salaries - Fire Chief and Asst. Chief The Fil'e Chief and the A.~;sistant Fire Chief having ltIlde ,l.equest to the City Manager that they be given a raise in salary, the matter was discussed between the Commissioners and the MenageI'. From all of tm f acts presented it was the opinion of the Commission that no such increase in salaries be considered for the current fiscal year. Snlary Ordinance Section No. 5507, R.C.M., 1935, provides that the City Commission pass an annual salary ordinance and, comply'ing therewi th, the Manager presented Ordinance No. 698, anti tled as follows: ftORDINANCE NO. 698"' AN ORDINANCE FIXING rrHE ANNUAL SALARY OR COMPENSATION OF THE CITY MANAGER, THE HEADS OF DEPARTME~TSl- AND THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY COMMISSION, PUR- SUANT TO THE PROVISIONS uF SECTION 5507, R.C.M. 1935. This' Ordinance he. ving been prepared in a ccordance with salary schedules for 1940 in amounts as recomnended by the Conmission, it was moved by Commissioner BUSCh, seconded by Mayor Hoey, that the Ordinance be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye end No vote, those voting Aye being Mayor Hoey and Commissioner BuSCh, those voting No being none and those not voting being Commissioner Lake, he being absent. Woolworth It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Hoey, that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried. Hoey, Busch voting Aye; ttlose voting No, none. Appointments: Library, Recreation, Cemetery and Plumbers Ex. Boards 1 Attention of Mayor Roey having been called to the fact that terms of certain members of the following Boards had expired on December 31, 1939, Mayor Hosy made the following re- appointmmt of Board members, each of these appointments to be for a term of three years: Reappointed to the Library Board, Mrs. J. M. Hamilton and D. S. Williams Reappointed to the Board of Recreation, Wylie Davis Reappointed to the Bunset Hills Cemetery Board Mrs. EliZabeth Plew, J. R. Chambers and Fred F. Willson Reappointed as the Master Plunt>ermember of the Board of Plumbers Examiners Frank Trunk It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Hoey, that these appointments be confirmed and approved and. the motion was carried. Roey & Busch voting Aye; those voting No,none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission a t this time, 1 twas moved by Commissioner Bus ch, seconded by Mayor Hoey that the meeting adjourn and the motion carried by the following liye and No vote; those ''Voting Aye being Mayor Hoey and Conmissioner Busch; those voting No. none.
