HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-01-26 148 Bozeman, Montana January 26, 1940 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Connnission Room, Ci ty Hall Building, Friday evening January 26, 1940, at 7 :30 0' clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor lfuey, Commissioner Busch, City Manager Henderson, Director of Finance Walter Davis, and the Acting clerk, those being absent were Commissioner Lake and City Attorney Aitken, when the following proceedings were bad to-wit; The minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Bus ch, seconded by Mayor Hoey tha t the minutes be appro ved as read and the motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Hoey and Commissioner Busch: those voting No, none. Report The report of the Water Collector for the month of January, 1940 was presented and after its examination by the Commission, motion was made by Comndssioner Busoh, seconded ~ by Mayor Roey, that the report be accepted and order filed and the motion was carried. Hoey 8.: Busch voting Aye; those voting No, none. Annual Meeting - Bozeman Creek Resevoir Co. Attention of the Commission was called to the annual meeting of the Bozeman Creek Reservoir Company, to be held in the Commission room on February 13, 1940 at 2:00 o'clock P.M. The Manager pointed out the importance of the City being properly represented at this meeting. Hearing - Annual Appropriation (Budget) Ordinance) This being the date set for one of two hearings on Ordinance No. 697, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the following citizens were present to be heard: Willard Knadler, Dr. Imdleigh Marsh and Bert 1full. These gentlemen explained that they had no particular point in the proposed budget to question but that they were in attendance for the purpose of securing information whereupon the City Manager explained the proposed budget in detail. The Mayor expressed the thanks of the Commission to these gentlemen for the interest they showed in civic affairs by their attendance at the meeting. City nicense - Transfer A letter" from the Bryant Motor Co. was presented to the Gonnnission requesting that the 1940 City License issued to this firm to conduct a business at 628 W. Main St. be trans- ferred to 502 E. Main St., the firm having moved their business to this new location. It was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Hoey, that the request be grantecl and the motion was carried. Iioey & Busch voting Aye; those voting No, none. City License The following applications for city license were presented and read: College Hill Grocery Canton Cafe J. ~. Ketterer Filling Sta. Owenhouse Hardware Co. Eagle Garage C1 ty Dye Works Ryan Who:lB sale R. G. Gallup, Dairy Dr. E. F. Bull Evergreen Grocery Continental Oil Co. It was moved by Comrndssioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Rosy, that these applications be approved and the licenses gran ted and the motion was carried, Hoey & Busch vo ting Aye; those voting No, none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Oommiss~nn at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Ibey that the meeting adjourn and the motion I I 1 149 carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Roey and Comndssioner Busch; those voting No, being none. 2 Mayor 1 Attest: Actln~~!t ~~on I ..1 .. ,.
