HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-02-23 156 Boz eman, Mon tana February 23, 1940 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening Febru,ary 23, 1940, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Hoey, Commissioner Busch, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Henderson, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had to -wi t: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by r,~ayor Hoey tha t the mlnu tea be apprcmd as read and the roo tiOD was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Hoey and Commis- sioner Buscl1; those voting No, none. Report Audi t 1939 The annual audit for 1939, was presented. Ur. J. M. Stotesbury, C.P.A. was present to explain and answer any ques tions regard:tng the report. After examination of the report, It vms moved by Commissioner Busch, seconded by Mayor Hoey tha t the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Boey and Commissioner Busch; those voting No, none. Bond for Garbage Hauling Mr. Floyd Butler and others appeared before the Connission and stated that bonding firms would not furnish a performance bond for a garbage hauling contract. It was suggested to these men tha t the,:,.. exhaust every effort to locate a bonding company which would 'write such bonds; but, if they could not locate such a company, tha t they submi tab id and s ta te in their proposal tha t they will furnish personal bond wi th sureties acceptable to the Ci ty Commission. Petition -- Re: Maintenance District No. 90 The Man ager read a pe ti tion s 19ned by 59 .37~ of the property owners in Special Improvemen t ri:ain tenance Dis tric t No. 90, parking main tenance on the eas t side of Seventh Avenue between Story Street and College Street, requesting thrit they be allowed to main- tain their own parkings. The peti tion was discussed by the Commission. The City Attorney sta ted that the district could not be abolished, and after further discussion, it was moved by Commis- s loner Busch, seconded by Ma;<{or Hoey tha t all property owners in this dis tric t will be allowed to care for their own parkings during the lU40 season, and no assessment will be made for City maintenance; that this be done as a trial proposi tiOD wi th Ci ty maintenance of these parklngs to be resumed a t any time when the maintenance by all property owners is DO t kept up to the s tundard a t which these parkings have been ma in tained by the Ci ty, and the mo tion was carried by the fol10w.1.n.n: Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being },:a ~ror Hoe y and Commiss ioner Busch; those voting No, none.
