HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-05-10 1.82 Bozeman, Montana May 10, 1940 The Connnission of The C1 ty of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, C1 ty Hall Building, B'r1da;;r evening May 10, 1940 at 7 :30 0' clocl{ P.M. Those being presont were Commissioner Busch, Commissioner Lake, City Manager Henderson and the Clerk, when the following proceedlngs were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular :session were read and it was moved by Connnlssioner Lake, seconded by Commisfdoner Busch thRt the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the followine; Aye and No vo to; those vo ting Aye being Commissioner Bus ch and Commissioner Lalm; those voting No, none. Acting Mayor -- Appointed The :Manager stated that, in the absence of the Mayor one af the Commissioners should be appointed as the Acting Mayor, whereupon it was moved by Commissioner Lake, seconded by Commissioner Busch the t Commissioner Busch be appointed Acting Mayor for t.l1is meet- ing and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those votine; Aye being Comrnis sioner Busch and Commis s ioner Lake; those vo ting No, none. Bids for SID No. 331 & 332 The Manacer stated that thls was the time-andplace set for the opening of bids for the construction of Special Improvement District No. 331 sanitary sewer on East liIlain Street from Broadway to ~OO~ and Special Improvement District No. 332 Sanitary sewer on Dell Place from Sto ry Street sou tt. to the end of Dell Place. He presen ted affidavi t of publication of the notice to contractors, wherellpon it was moved by Commlssioner Lake, seconded b;T Commissioner Busch that the bids be opened and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Conunissioner Busch and 0om- r.1~ssl,oner Lake; those: voting No, n:)ne. The followIng Bids were opened and read: SID No. 331 SID No. 332 Standard Construction Company $ 1,532.40 ;$ 807.20 Mr. L. S. Thorpe, City Engineer, wa's present fmd stated thElt both bids wero less than the estimnted cost. Whereu,pon, it was moved by Commissioner Lake, seconded by CorrnnissioDer Busch that the Standard Construction Company be awarded the contract for the cons truct:ton of the sewers and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; tb.ose votlne Aye beine; Commissioner Busch and Commissioner Lake; those votinc; No, none. Claim of l/lueller Company The Iv:anager presented claim No. 862l of the Muelh~r Company on the Via ter li'und in the amount of ~~442.68. lIe stated tha t if this was the amount paid now, a 2Jb discount could be deducted. It was moved by Commissioner Lake, seconded b:? Commissioner Busch that the claim. be allowed and a warrant be drawn for its paynent and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those vo ting Aye being Cornmis sloner Busch and Commissioner Lake; those voting 'V 1\0, none. Bids for Police Car The Manager brought up the subject of purchase of a new Police Car. He stated that the present car has been driven nearly 40,000 miles; thRt while it is operating satis- factorily now it would need to be replaced during the present year ann that it should brIng a larger pr ice as a trade-in now than la tel' in the year. He further pointed out the importance of having a police car which is u~-to-da te and in the best possible con- dition at all times and he recommended a purchase of a new car at this time.
