Dear Commissioners Chris Mehl and Carson Taylor,
As I understand, the Swim Center will be installing a semi-permanent wall, cutting the pool
into 25 meter and 25 yard lengths. I believe this proposal was presented within the City'sproperty/infrastructure improvement budget process. It seems this decision did not included
input from the wider Bozeman swimming community. I would like to oppose this as Bozemanhas a unique recreational asset that few cities in the nation of its size possess -- an indoor 50
meter pool. You would have to drive to Calgary Alberta to find the next indoor, open accesscommunity 50 meter pool.
When training, a 50 meter pool helps to maximize the training experience and improves
athletic performance. I oppose this decision and hope that the committee will reconsider.
