HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-02-26 I I I L14~} Bozeman, Montana February 26th, 1947 The Commi~sion of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in theCornmission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, February 26th, 1947, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson. CommissIoner Lowe, City Attorney Aitken, City Manager Quinnell, Director-of Finance Walter Davis, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were redd, and lt was Moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson thAt the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and 1':0 vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. ApplicationA for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: The Bungalow City Dyev.orks H. G. Darlinton Dr. C E Whitehead Hauseman's & McCalls Willmore & Howells Gamble-Robinson Company Galla tin Valley Seed Co. and the applica tion of the Park Ice and Cold Storage for a wholesale beer license. It was moved by CommissIoner Sorenson, seconded by Commi~sioner Lowe that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Applic'3tlor~ for Beer ,~ Li"'l1or License The application of the Ea~les Lodge for a City Beer and a City Liquor License was pre- sented and read. After discussion regarding license fee for clubs, it was moved by Commis- sioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the applications be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the follow ing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Hea 1y, Commis sioT: er Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Reports The followlnp: reports were presented and read: Wa ter Collec tor fo r the month of January, 1947 Plumbing Inspector for the months of December, 1946 and January, 1947 City-Co~nty Health Unit for the year 1946 It was moved by Commii"sloner Sorenson, seconded by Commlssloner Lowe tha t the reports be accepted and ordere-l filed and the motion was carried by the follow:1ng Aye and No vote; t>'ose voting Aye being Nlayor Healy, Commis8~oner "'orenson and Comm:1ss:1oner Lowe; those votinp: T'-TO, none. ~rayor to Sign FWA Advance Planning Agreement The Manager presented ano read the agreement of the F W A to flJrnish The City of Bozeman $18,750.00 for advance planningcfsewage treatment plant. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis R1 oner Sorenson tha t the 1~ayor be au thorized to sign the a,greemen t for Trfe City of Bozeman C) nd the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those votIng Aye being Mayor Eealy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Communica tion -- Burns <1,- McDonnell The Manager read a communieatlon from Buras & McDonnell stating that they were pro- ceed~ng with sepcificat:1.ons on the mechanical equipment for the sewage treatment plant, and tha t after bids are recei ved and the con tract Ie t for this equipment, plans and specifica- tions would be completed for the balance of the plant, in confor~ity therewith. L150 Use of Drill Hall Mr. Nels Nelson, of the American Legion, WAS present to ask.if the Leglon Auxiliary could use the Drill Hall at the Armory on Tuesdays for their drill team practice. The Commission stated that it would be agreeable provided that it does not interfer with other activities at the hall. Commissioner Sorenson stqted that ~ group of girls sponsored by Mrs. Smith of the Jr. High ~cbool would like to use the Ar~ory Drill Hall for the practicing of basketball. It was stated thAt the girls sho1..J.ld make arrangements at the City Office to use the hall at such times as it is available, and not rented, and that it could be used for their purpose provided the t other scheduled vpes are not interfered wi tho Appointment - Savare to Plumbing BOArd Ma yor Rea ly announced the appoin tmBnt of Walter Savag:e to the Plumbing Examiner r s Board for the unexpired term of ,Julius F. Wolfe resigned for the period ending .Janua?"'y I, 1949. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson tha t the ap- pointment be approved and the mottor was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Ma~Tor Healy, Commissj oner Sorenson and Commissjoner Lowe; those voting No, none.
