HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-03-12 4.511 Bozeman, JIlontana ~arch l2th, 1947 The Commission of ;lhe Ci ty ofBoze'^"sn met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, March 12th, 1947, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minu tes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis sioner Sorenson tha t the minu tes be a pproved as read, and the mo- tion was carried by the followin~ Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner ~orenson; those voting No, none. Girl Scouts to Observe City Government Mrs. Henry Gossack and several girl scouts were present and stated that they would like to ob2erve the City Government, Saturday, March 15th, 1947. The Girl Scouts present were in- troduced by Miss Allene Sorenson, who m8mtioned the department that each girl scout was to observe. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the list of observers be approved as presented and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No -. vote; those voting Aye being Commissioners Sorenson and Lowe.; those voting No, none. Bids for Power Shovel The Manager stated that this was the tiwe and place set for the opening of bids for a power shovel. He presented and read the affidavit of publication of the Notice to bidders. It wasthereupon, moved by Commissioner Lowe. seconded by Commissioner O::Iorenson tha t the bids be opened, and the rrotion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Commis s loners Sorenson and Lowe; those voting No, none. Plans for T01Jrist CabIns Approved Plans for addi tional cabIns to the Motor Inn property at 510 North 7th Avenue were pre- sented. Protes ts to Add 1 tiona 1 Beer ,P, Li"'uor Licens es A communic"ltion from the Bozeman MInisterial Association was presented and read, stating they were opposed to the Ci ty Commission issulnp: addi tional beer or liauor licenses in the City of Bozeman. Recl1Jest for Use of Armory A communicstion from the Bozeman Federation of Women's vlub was presented and read, asking for use of the Armory Drill Hall for Monday, April 7th, 1947, for a card party, the proceeds to be used in furnishing a room at the hospital. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the use of the drill hall be ~ranted free of charge for this purpose and the motion was carried by the following ~ye and No vote; tbose voting Aye being Commissioners Sorenson and Lowe; tho sa voting No, none. Cancer Ass'n Tarr Day The Manager s ta ted the t the loca 1 organiza tion of the American Cancer Society has set April 26th, 1947 as their tag day. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that this day be approved and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and no vote; those voting Aye being Commissioners Lovve & Sorenson; those voting 'Po, none. Beer & L1-vor Licenses for Bozeman Yr. R. B. MacNab, Jr., and Mr. A. Botzenhardt appeared to ask whAt the City Commis- ["ion was going to do regarding 1s su ing further lic ens es for beer & liquor wi thiT' the Ci ty. They were informed ths t before any action could be taken by the Commis sian tha t they wOlJld have to know what the law adopted by the last legislablre provides, and that as yet no copies of the law had been received by the City Commission.
