Dear Commissioners,
My name is John Preston, I live at 409 S Bozeman Ave. I will be out of town on August 7 otherwise I would
make these comments at your meeting. I urge you to once again reject the proposed Black Olive project - it
is still, to quote comments I heard from you, "the wrong building in the wrong location." I feel strongly that
the developer has ignored the concerns expressed by you and many in the community - very little change
has been made since the last time you rejected it. The developer continues to waste your valuable time by
asking you to approve something that has been rejected for very valid reasons. The building is still too big
for its location, it is still a very unattractive building that will detract from the neighborhood, and the
amount of parking provided is still woefully inadequate - none of that has changed!
I fear that if the Black Olive is approved that it will pave the way for more projects of this scale and that the
character of Downtown Bozeman will be lost. We can have infill without overfill.
