The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, June 11th, 1947, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Heal y, Commis s loner Sorenson, Ci ty Attorney Ai tken, Thurman Cloninger,
Park Superintendent, Willis Springer, Street Superintendent, W. R. Border, Water Superin-
tendent, L. S. Thorpe, City Engineer, A. 'f-T. Haas, Chief of Police and the Clerk, when the

Garbage Loader Explained
Mr. Hal Hagen, representing The Hell Company, Billings, Montana, was present and ex-
plained to the Ci ty Comwiss ioners their "Colecto-Pak" uni t to be mounted on a truck body
for the collection of garbage. Following discussion and r"luestions, literature concerning
the unit was left for stl1dy by the City Manager and the City Commissioners.

It was reported tha t the claims had been thoroughly checked by the heads of the de-
partments, and it was th01Jght that in the absence of the City ~I.anager that the claims could
be approved, sl.1b.iect to his approval upon his return to duty. After examination of the
claims in detail by the City Commissjoners, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded
by Mayor Healy the t the claims be approved and warran ts be drawn for their pa yment and the

Publicity for ~ewage Treatment Bond Issue
City Attorney Aitken accepted the request of the City Commission to handle the public-
i ty for the Revenue Bond Elec tion to be he ld June 24th, 1947, for the cons truc tion 0 f a
sewage treatment plant. The City Attorney was also authorized by the City Commission to
insert a half page advertisement regarding the special election in the Bozeman Chronicle
and in the Bozeman Courier.
It was announced that a round-table discussion would be held 'l'hursday afternoon at
2:30 o'clock to discuss with local and state officials the publicity for said election.
Resolution No. 60l -- Assess~ent for S.I.D. No. 340.
Resolution No. 601, entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF TEE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA LEVYING AND
ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON ALL TEE PROP"RRTY IN SPECIAL
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 340 IN THE. CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALL'\TIN,
STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF CONSTRUC TING AND MAKING THE IM-
PROVEMENTS WITHIN SAID SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 340.
was presented and read. Said Resolution levies an assessment in the amount of $4,281.40,
for the cost of the construction of Special Improvement District No. 340, sanitary sewer
on North Fifth Avenue, from Peach Street to a point fifty feet south of Beall street.
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Healy that the resolution be
provisional;Ly passed and June 18th, 1947 be set as the date for the hearing of protests and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Public Bearing S.I.f). No. 345
It was reported that this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests to
the crea ting of Special Improvement Dis tric t No. 345, extension of the wa ter main on North
Tracy Avenue from Aspen Street to Tamarack Street, and on Tamarack Street from Tracy Avenue
to Black Avenue. The affidavit of publication of the Notice ~ property owners was presented
together with
jthe Clerk's mailing certificate stating that all property owners had been notified.

There was no one present to protest;!, whereupon, it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson,
seconded by Mayor Healy that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the resolution
creating the district and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those
voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.

moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Healy that the meeting adjourn and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
