Those beinp' present were !v;ayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by CommissIoner Lowe, seconded b:~ Commissioner Sorenson tha t the minutes be approved as read, and the mo- tion was carried by the followIng- Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Plattinrrof Land on North Seventh Mr. PalJl .Jones, who is constructing a house on North Seventh on unplatted ground ap- peared before the Commis s ion to ask wha t could be done so tha t he cOlJld con tinue wi th the buildin'" of his dwellin?, upon which construc tion had been ordered stopped until such time as he had secured a buildinP.' permit from the City. He was informed that a build:in[': perrrit could not be issued until the ground had been platted as reqllired by the law. After discussion, ~,~r. .Jones stated that he would submit a proposed platting of this ground to the City Commission in the very near futureand if the propos ed pIa t is approved by the Ci t;T Commission the work of surveyinp", ma ppinp and filing in accordance therewith will proceed without delay. After examination of the claims in detail by the City Commissioneri"', it was moved by Commissioner Sorensor, seconded b:~ Commi."sioner Lowe that the cblrrs be approved and warrants drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by the follOWing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being May<)r Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; tlbose voting No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of June, 1947 were presented and read: Water Collector Lib rarian Fire Chief Police Chief Police Judge It was moved by Commis8ione.r Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the reports be accepted and ordered fi led and thsmotion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorensor. and Commissioner Lowe; those vo tine; No, none. '" 4~jH Co-operation in Law Enforcement A~encies Mr. W. Switzer of the Walter Switzer Company, Spokane, Washington was present and stated that he w01Jld be willing to promote a meeting of the local law enforcement agencieE' so as to get a broader view of their radio needs and wha t each could us e and s hou Id buy in order to improve the efficiency of their depart~ents. He stated that he had gain~d some valuable information from a state survey made by himself. Mr. Switzer was informed that the Montana Municipal League was to meet in Billings July llth & l2th, and that :In order to provide a uniform program for the state, it might be well for him to a ttend this meeting. Wages for City Laborers Mr. Herman Norwood, Business Agent for the Local Union appeared to inquire what had been done regardirg the proposed wage sea le submitted to the Ci ty Commissi on by hi s organ- ization. He was informed tte t the ma tter of wafi.'es would be discussed at the meetlng of the Montana Nunicipal League, and that a preliminary bud~et would be submitted to the City Comml C'sioners in about two weeks. Garbsge Bids The matter of the garbage bids that were taken under advisement were given considera- tion at this time, and it was thought th8t it might be possible for the City to get equip- ment to handle the garbage collection within six months, whereupon, it was moved by Commis- sioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe, th8t the bid of Henry Suhr, being the low bid be accepted prOVided he will accept a contract with the option of cancellation by either party a t the end of six mon ths. upon 30 d8 ys notice, and the motion was carried by the fol- lowing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Com- missioner Lo.."e: t.hope voting No, none. A1Jdi t for 1947 The matter of the anY'ual 9.11dit was considered and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by CommisR:ion8r Sorenson that Nr. C. ,,~. Coulston, CPA be appointed to make the annual a1J.di t as in previous years, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vo te; those voting Aye be ing Ma yor Heal y, Commis s loner Sorens on and Commiss loner Lovile; those votinll No, none. Carnival for Jaycee Roundup It was reported th8t the Jr. Chamber of Commerce had asked permission for the Ralph Meeker ':':>hows to present their carnival dlJrlng their annual Roundup. Chief of Police Haas stated that this show had been favorably recommended where they have pre\:'..uusly performed, whereupon, it was moved by Commiss:loner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the I:~. Transfer of Parkina Lot Lease The Manager reported that the parking lot at the corner of Bozeman and Babcock Streets leased by The City of Bozeman hAd been sold by R. I. Diefenderfer to the Eagles Lodge # 463, and the Lodge was willing to lease the lot to The City of Bozeman under the same terms and conditions 8S it is now leased from Mr. ~iefenderfer. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson seconded by Mayor Healy tha t a lease be prepared between The City of Bozeman and the Eagles I I I 495J Lodpe under the same terms and conditions as the lease now in oper8tion and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Signs for Streets City ManAcer Quinnell reported that the idea of steDciline; street markers which had been under consideration had been abandoned, as it WB8 th01J.i,rht thfOit a neater looking sign ShOllld be purchased, bu t the t i nforma tion recei ved from various manuf8 c tllrers had no t been very encouraging as to delivery dates. Advertising for S.l.D. No. 341, 342 and 344 Bonds The Manager reported that the form of advertisement for the sale of the bonds for Special Improvement Districts No. 341, in the approximate amount of $22,000.00; District No. 342, in the approxim8te amount of $4,300.00; and District No. 344 in the approximate amount of $23,000.00 had been prepared. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Heal y tha t the Clerk be au thorized to advertise for the s ale of said bonds, the bids to be opened July 30th, 1947, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting: Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
