HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-01-02 L130 Boz eman, Mon tana January 2nd, 1947 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, January 2nd, 1947, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager ~uinnell, City Attorney Aitken, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commis sioner Lowe tha t the minutes be approved as read, and the mo- tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, 1 Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Use of Drill Hall -- VFW Basketball Mr. Bud Jenkins, of the V.F. W. Club, was present to ask if his organization could use the Drill Hall at the Armory to practice basketball whenever it was available and not otherwise in use. He s ta ted there were no gymnasiums available in town and the t their team would like a place to practice before entering the V. F. W. Tournamen t, February 18th & 19th. After consideration, it was thought that the V. F. W. boys might have free use of the drill hall for two or three nights a week when it is not rented for other purposes, pro- vided the City is put to no expense for cleaning or repairs on t~ account, and that per~ mission.~for the use hereby granted may be withdrawn at any time., Reports The following reports for the month of December, 1946 were presented and read: Librarian Police Judge SAnitary Inspector and the annual report of the Police Judge for the year 1946 was also presented and read. I It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commi ssioner Sorenson tta t the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Applic8tions for City Licenses The following applications for City Licenses were presented and read: Arcade City Taxi Lines and the following applications for City Beer & City Liquor Licenses: Arcade V. F. W. Club It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Comrn.issioner Lowe that the applica- tions be approved & the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Request for Sewer Connection A written request from the Lovelace Realty Company, aSking permission to connect to the sanitary sewer for a machine shop to be installed in the garages at the back of 207-211 Lindley Place, the proposed shop to be temporary as plans are to construct a new machine shop when materials are available. It was pointed out that application for an improvement permit should be submitted to the building inspector in writing and if necessary the case should be appealed to and ae ted upon by the Zoning Board, before any change is made in the use of the garages, as the Zoning Ordinance does not allow machine shops to be operated in the "0" Residence District where the garages are located, and that Mr. Lovelace should be I.
