The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, September 4th, 1946, at 1:00 O'clock P.M. Those
being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager
Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis and the Clerk, when the
following prooeedings were had to.wit:
I The minutes of the last regular session were read. and it was moved by Commissioner
Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the mo-
tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.

Claims Nos. l0886 to ll086 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows:

The Manager stated that he has audited these claims and finds them to be true and law-
ful claims against The City of Bozeman and recommends that warrants be drawn for their pay-
men t. After examination 0 f the claims in detail by the Commission, it was moved by Com-
I missioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the claims be approved and warrants
drawn for their payment and the motion was carried by, the following Aye and No vote; those
voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those vot~ng No,none
Reports
'rhe following reports for the month of August, 1946 were presented and read:
Cashier Police .Tudge Cemetery Board Director of Finance for
Librarian Fire Chief Water Collector the month of July.
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports
be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the fol10wing Aye and No vote;

Resolution No. 584 -- Intention to Create S.I.D. No. 343
The Manager stated that the City Attorney as instructed had prepared the Resolution
of Intention to create Special Improvement District No. 343, for the construction of a
sanitary sewer to serve the property in the West Side Addition south of Koch Street and
west of Twelfth Avenue not previously served by a sanitary sewer.

Resolution No. 587 -- Intention to Create S.I.D. No. 344
The Manager stated that the City Attorney as instructed had prepared the Resolution I
of Intention to create Special Improvement District No. 344, for the construction of water
mains to service the property in the West Side Add1tion south of Koch Street and west of
Eleventh Avenue. He presented and read Resolution No. 587, enti tled:

The JVl:anager stated that the City Attorney as instructed had prepared the Resolution
of Intention to vaca te the east and west alley in Block 14, of the Northern Pacific Ad-
dition. He presented and read, Resolution No. 586, entitled: I

Resolution No. 585 -- RetiremBnt Plan for City Employees
The Manager presented and read Resolution No. 585 authorizing the Mayor and ~e Clerk
to sign a contract with the Board of Administration of the Public Employees Retirement Sys-
tem to carry out the right~" benefits and payments of the Public Employees Retirement Act

A plat showing the division of a portion of 2Aere Lot 1, Guy's 2nd Addition was pre-
sen ted. It was decided after examination of the abstract that it should be brought down to
date and the matter further investigated before any action is taken.

Rearrangement of Lot 1, Block 7, B & D Addition
A plat showing the Rearrangement of Lot 1, Block 7, Babcock & Davis Addition to be
known as Brady's Rearrangement was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded
by Commissioner Sorenson that the plat be approved subject to the title being in Mr. Brady's
name, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; thos e voting Aye being

Communication -- Chamber of Commerce
A comnnmica tion from the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce explaining
their plan for the erection of rustic signs at the City's entrances was presented and read.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the plan be ap-
proved and the motion was carried by the followinrr Aye and No vote; those votin~ Aye being

Firemen to Fire School at Polson
A communication from the Volunteer Fire Department at Polson, Montana stating their
annual fire school would be held September 19th to 21st, 1946 was presented and read. It
was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that two members of the
Fire Department be authorized to attend the fire school and their expenses be paid from
the General Fund And the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting
Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, non e .
Offer for Fire Truck
An offer from N. E. Nelson of $20.00 for the Studebaker car used in the Fire Department
was presented and read. It was decided to consult Fire Chief MeCrosson regarding this
I matter before any action is taken.

Dse of Hospital Tract
The Mana~er stated there had been several inquiries regarding trailer space in the City,
and suggested that the tract to be leased from the Holy Rosary Parish could be used for
this purpose. The City Attorney s ta ted he would prepare the lease for this tract of ground.
