The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, October 9th, 1946 at l:UU o'clock P.M. Those being
present were Mayor Healy, Commis~ioner Sorenson, C1 ty ManaR'er Quinnell, Director of F'inance
Wal ter Da vis and the Clerk, wh'3n the following proceedings were had to-wi t:
The minutes of the last re@:ular session were read, and it was moved by Commiss~ onsr I
Sorenson, seconded by Meyor Healy that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Com-
missioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Application for City License
The application of Lyle Olsen for a one-half year City License was presented and read.
It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Healy that the application be
approved and the license issued & the motion was carried by the following 11.ye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of September 1946 were presented and read:

It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Healy that the reports
be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 590 -- V'leed Assessment
The Manager stated that the resolution levying the assessment for weed cutting for the I
year 1946 in the amount of $46.20 had been prepared. He presented and read Resolution No.
590, entitled:

Resolution No. 591 -- Snow Assessment
The Manager st'OJted that the resolution levying the asse:"sment for the removal of snow
for the year 1946 in the amolmt of $l04.l0 had been prepared. He presented and read Reso-

Resolution No. 592 -- Garbage Assessment
The Manager stated that the resolution levying the asseSSTent for the removal and
disposal of garbage from the residential district for the year 1946 in the amount of
$14,944.82 had been prepared. He presented and read Resolution No. 592, enti tl Ed:

Request for use of Sound Car
The Manager stated that a request had been made from Mr. Ferguson 510 West Bqbeock
for permission to use a sound car on the city streets for advertising purposes. The Com-
mission did not think it would be good policy to grant permission to use a sound car on
the streets for all types of advertising at any time, because of the probability of thus
creating a public nuisance.
Request for Use Arnory
A request from the Veterans of Foreign Wars to use the Armory stage for practice of
their local talent show, to be presented October l6th was considered, and the Commission
stAted that permission should be granted as the requested use would only be for seven days.
I Automobile for Police Departrr;ent
Mr. 'Jean Chaffin, of the Northern Auto Company was present and stated that his com-
pany now had on hand a Chevrolet panel automobile, the model that was wanted by the Police
Department. Mr. Chaffin stated that he did not like to trade this new panel car for the
police car now in use under the present contract as the contract has only opArated since
the first of May and he did not feel this was a long enougb period of time in which to
determine if the contract would be satisfactory to both parties. Mr. Chaffin s ta ted
further that he would rent this car to the City under a similar contract as the Chevrolet
Sedan now in use, or sell it to the City outright. After discussion, the Commis~ion stated
they would take the matter under advisement.
Garb8ge Assessrrent -- 322 North Rou se
Mr Walter Latta, 322 North Rou se, was presen t and s ta ted tha t the garbage collec tor
would not back-in and take his garbage but did back-in to his neighbors and haul their
garbage. The Commission stated that under the contract the garbage should be placed at
the curb or in the alley, but th8t the matter wovld be taken up with the ?;arbafTe hauling

Examination of the Custodian's receipts, held by the 0irector of Finance, to cover
C:i.ty Funds in the various Bozeman Banks was 'performed by the City Commission. It was
moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Mayor Healy that the li2t be approved and
entered in full in the minutes and the motion was carried by the following riye and No
