'<JC'l Bozeman, Mon tana October 16th, 1946 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, October 16th, 1946, at 1:00 P.M. Those being present were Commissioner Sorenson, Commi ss ione r Lowe, City Manager Quinnell and the Clerk . when the following proceedings were had to-wit: I The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commis sioner Sorenson tha t the minu tes be approved as read, and th e mo- tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; thos e va ting Aye being Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Rental of Police Car Mr. Dean Chaffir, of the Northern Auto Company, was present to inquire what decision the City Commts sion had reached regarding another CRr for the Police Department. The Manager stated that he had talked the matter over with other car dealers in the Citv and " . '- J ~. they could not make delivery within a reasonable time; and, therefore, under the circum- s ta nee s , it would probably be advisable to rent the Chevrolet Panel car as offered by the Northern Al)to Company for $100 per month, under a similar contract to that now used for the Chevrolet sedan.. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded b~T Commis si on er Sorenson that a contract be drawn for the rental of the Chevrolet Panel car substantially in accord- ance with that now in use for the 4-door Chevrolet sedan at a rate of $lOO per month and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, non e. I Applic';ltion for Transf8r of Beer License The application of E. McKnight for a transfer of the City Beer License from the Stockman Bar to E. McKnight was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson seconded by Cornmis~ioner Lowe tha t the a pplica tion be app:roved and the transfer made and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Commissioner Sorenson and CommissioDer Lowe; those vo ting No, none. Repor ts n1B following reports for themonth of September, 1946 were presented and read: Chief of Police City Manager's Quarterly Report It was moved by Commissioner Lowe; seconded by Commis si oncr Sorenson tha t tne reports he accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Resolution }To. 590 -- Weed Assessment The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the hear:ing of protests to the levying of the assessment amounting to $46.20, for the cutting of weeds for the year 1946. He presented the affidavi t of public" tion of the Notice and stated that no I. protests had been filed and no one was present to protest. He presented and read Resolution No. 590, en ti tIed: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSM~~T OF TAX~S UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN TrJE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COillJTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY TEE COST OF EXTERMINATION AND REMOVAL OF NOXIOUS WEEDS FOR TH8~ YEAR 1946; PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 428; ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE DEFINING AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUNISHM~NT AND ABA~MENT OF CERTAIN NUISANCES." It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the resolu- tion be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No 40ti vote; those voting Aye being Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 591 -- Snow Assessment The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests td the levy1ng of the assessment amount to $104.10, for the removal of snow for the year 1945-l946. He presented affidavit of public8tion of the Notice and stated that no pro- I tests had been filed and no one was present to protest, whereupon he presented and read Resolution No. 591, enti tled: A RESOLUTION' OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN LEVYIl'G AND ASSESSING A SPF,CIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXT,~S UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BOZE!"AN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF REMOVAL OF SNOW FOR THE YEAR 1945-1946 PURSUANT TO PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 502, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF SNOW FROM THE SIDEWALKS IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 385, ENTITLED: 'AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE RE~WVAL OF SNOW A1TD ICE, DIRT, FIL'l'H, AND OTHER OBSTRTTGTION FROM SIDE- WALKS ON MAIN STRE'~ET BETWEEN WALLACE AVENUE AND FOURTH AVENUE IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN' " It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the resolu- tion be finally passed and adopted and the mo tion was carried by the fo llowing Aye and No vote; those vo ting Aye being Cornmiss ioner Sorenson and Commis r,ioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 592 -- Garbage Assessment The Manager stated that this was the time and place set for the hearing of protests to the levying of the assessment amounting to $14,944.82 for the removal and disposal of garbage for 1946. He presented affida vi t of publica tion of the Notice, and s ta ted thClt no protests had been filed and no one was present to protest, whereupon he presented and I read Resolution No. 592, en ti tIed: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY' OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON ALL REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BOZE1VAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, SERVICED AND FROM WHICH GARBAGE WAS COLLECT!<~D AND Rl~_:rf:OVED DURING THE YEAR 1946 TO DEFRAY THE COST AND EXPENSE OF COLLECTING AND DISPOSING OF GARBAGE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 696 OF THE CITY OF BOZE~AN, MONTANA It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the resolu- tion be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those votlng Aye being Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
