HomeMy WebLinkAbout1946-11-13 414 Bozeman, Montana November 13th, 1946 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, November 13th, 1946, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commi es ioner Lowe tha t the minutes be approved as read, and the mo" I tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy~ Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Buildin&,!: Permi. t -- 302 N. Bozel'ran '-. Mr. Ole Hetland, 302 North Bozeman, was present in connection with the matter of remodeling a building at the rear of his lot, which was discussed at the last meeting. A p1a t showing the loca tion of the buildings now on the property was presen ted, and it was shown that one of these buildings could be moved so as to conform with the Zoning Code. Mr. F. L. Trunk, local plumber, stated that the required sewer connection could readily be made when the building is so moved. Mr. Hetland 'stated the house would be ready for occupancy as soon as the sewer is con- nected and the gas turned on, and that a tenant is waiting to move in. After disq..u8sion and consideration of the present housing conditions, it was decided that a temporary permit to July 1st, 1947 be issued for the improvement of the building at its present location in the rear of the property and b~ that time the building must be moved so as to comply with the Zoning Code. Applications for City Licenses I The following appltcetions for C1 ty Licenses were presented and read: . Frank Bonn Wright Bros. Meat Company It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the appli- ea tions be approved and the licenses issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those v oting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 594 -- W & C 1946 Assessment The Manager. s ta ted the t the resolution had been prepared, levying an assessment amounting to $789.45 for that portion of the walk and curb construction under contract for 1946 which has been completed to date. He presented and read Resolution No. 594, en ti t1ed: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAX}<;S UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING AND/OR REPAIRING MISCELLAr-!EOUS SIDEWALKS AN:D CURBS DURING THE YEAR 1946. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the resolution be provisionally passed and November 20th, 1946 be set as the date for the hearing of protests and the motion was cartied by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor I Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those votIng No, none. Reports The following reports for the month of October, 1946 were presented and read: Cashier Water Collector Police Judge Police Chief and the City Manager's report of the recent meeting of the Montana MuniCipal League's Executive Board. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following .:1t5 Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissiner Lowe"; those voting No, none. Bids for S.I.D. No. 344 Copies of the call for bids for the constru.ction of Special Improvement-District No. 344, water mains in the Normandy Rearrangement of the West Side Addition were presented. The I call being for cast-iron pipe as well as Transite pipe; the bids to be opened November 27th, 1946. Water Service - 639 S. Church Mr. Kundert, 639 South Church, requested permission to connect his water service line to the city's water main at a point a few feet south of the southern boundary of the City, as the well water in this vicinity was of poor quality. It was thought that permission for this service could be granted provided Mr. Kundert would agree not to oppose a move to bring his and the adjoining property into the City. Ad .iournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commisslorer Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
