The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Wednesday afternoon, November 2uth, 1946, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Those
being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, City Manager
Quinnell, City Attorney Aitken, and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had to-wit:
The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner I
Sorenson, seconded by Commis sioner Lowe that the minu tes be approved as read, and the mo-
tion was carried by the following aye and no vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Request to Operate Sound Car
Mr. Leon Furgason, 510 West Babcock, was present to request permission to operate a
sound car on the city streets for advertising purposes. He stated he had several calls for
the use of his public address system, which he had purchased, for this purpose.
The Commission after careful consideration of the request, felt that an occasional use
of a Bound car might not be too disturbing, but that a special permit should be obtained
from the City Manager for such use, and that anything like continuous or indiscriminate use
of such sound car would probably be a public nuisance and should not be allowed.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson, that the request
be denied and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being
Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. .
Claim

Claim No. 11483 in the amount of $59.08 for police work by Harry Harding for the month I
of October was presented and read. After examination of the claim, it was moved by Commis-
sioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the claim be approved and a warrant
drawn for its payment and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; thos e
voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
Reports
The following reports for the month of October, 1946 were presented and read:
City Engineer Director of Finance
It was moved Qy Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the reports
be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those
voting No, none.
Resolution No. 594 -- Final Passage
The Manager stated the t this was the time and place Bet for the hearing of protests to
the final adoption of the resolution levying the assessment for sidewalk construction com-
pleted during 1946. He presented the affidavit of publication of the Notice and stated that
no one was present to protest and no protests had been filed. He presented Resolution No. I

AND/OR REPAIRING MISCELLANEOUS SIDEWALKS AND CURBS DURING THE YEAR 1946.
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the resolu-
tion be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote; those vot:ing Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sroenson and Commissioner Lowe; those
votin~ No, none.

Bond & Contract S.X.D. 343
The bond and contract of the Standard Construction Company for the construction of
Special Improvement District No. 343, sanitary sewer in the Normandy Rearrangement of the
West Side Addition, were presented. The bond and contract were approved as to form by the
City Attorney, whereupon, it was moved by Commiss1.oner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner
I Sorenson that the bond and contract be accepted and approved and the motion was carried
by the following A ye and No vo te ; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy. Commissioner Lowe,
and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
Request to Close Hayes Street from Willson Avenue East
A peti tion signed by the abutting propert~u owners of Hayes Street from Willson Avenue
east to the City Limits was presented and read. Mr. Landoe representing the petitioners
stated the street was only one-half block long and terminated at a steep hill. After dis-
cussion, it was deCided to take the matter under advisement before action is taken.
Reappraisal of City Property
The City Manager reported that the County Commissioners had been in and suggested that
all city property be reappraised as this has not been done for many years. The City Commis-
sioners agreed that this should be done and the City Manager was directed to report that
the City would co-operate in evc)ry way possible.
Band
The Manager stated that the bandsmen had asked for some money from the City to carry
on their activities and he had informed them that it would be possible to pay them for an-
I other concert, to be given in the near future.
