HomeMy WebLinkAbout1946-04-12 33H Bozeman, Montana April 12th, 1946 The Commission of The City' of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Friday evening, April 12th, 1946, at 7:30 o'clock ~.M. Those being present were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson, Commissioner Lowe, Ci ty Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Daivs and the Clerk, when the following proceedings were had: The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner I Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as read, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commis sioner Lowe; tho se voting No, none. Veterans Housing Mr. T. J. Daley, of the Veterans Administration, Otto Tschache, Bud Jenkins, Wm~ Broell representing veterans appeared before the Commission to inquire what had and was being done relative to housing for veterans within the City. They were informed that the City had written to the housing authority for clarification relative to items in the housing application, and the Mayor presented a telegram stating that an important letter was forthcoming, and it was thought this would contain some helpful information relative to the City's application. The gentlemen were informed that the City would do all that was legally possible to provide honsing for veterans. Building Permit for Tourist Court Mr. J. Morrow representing R. E. Shonkwiler, who owns the Tana Auto Court at Peach and Seventh, was present and asked about a building permit to make additions to the . present tourist court. Ground plans of the proposed additional units were presented. I Permits issued to Hoffman, the former owner, were presented and Mr. Morrow stated that permission from the Federal authorities had been obtained and also the necessary materials. The ground plans were examined by the Commission, but no action was take n . Report The report of the Director of Finance for the month of March, 1946 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commis sioner Iowe that the report be accepted and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commission~r Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those vo ting No, none. Application for City License The application of the Radio's ~rusic Shop for a City License was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the application be approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vo te ; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Claim for Weapon Cartier I Claim No. 10145 in the amount of $825.00 to the War Assets Corporation for the pur- chase of a Dodge Truck as authorized by the City Commission was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the claim be ap- proved and allowed subject to the approval of the City Manager and the motion was carried by the follOWing Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being May~ Heal y, Commissioner Lowe, and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. 3a~) Deed to Williams & Huff Ranch The City Attorney stated that the deed transferring the Williams ranch and the Huff Ranch to Murray Nash, purcha s e r of the Contract given to T. W. Symmonds, had been prepared. It was moved by' Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Mayor and the Clerk be authorized to sign the deed for The City of Bozeman, and the deed and abstract I be turned over to Murray Nash upon flnal payment for the ranches, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none. Agreement -- Masonic Lodge No.6 An agreement between Gallatin Lodge No.6. A.F. & A.M. and The Gi t~lof Boz eman whereby said Lodge grants to The City of Bozeman the management and control over the Old Masonic Cemetery subject to all the rules and regulations of the Sunset Hills Cemetery, with the provision that only members of the Masonic Lodge and their families may be buried in the said tract was presented and read. The City Attorney stated that the Cemetery Board had approved said agreement, whereupon it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the Mayor and the Clerk be authorized to sign the agreement for The City of Bozeman and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Adjol~rnment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was I moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following rlye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Lowe and Commissioner Sorenson; those voting No, none.
