The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room,
City Hall Building, Friday evening, May 31st, 1946 , at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Those being pres-
ent were Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; City Manager Quinnell,
City Attorney Aitken, Director of Finance Walter Davis, City Engineer ~horpe, and the Clerk
when the following proceedings were had to-wit: I
The minutes of the last re~118r session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner
Sorenson, ooconded by Commissioner Lowe that the minutes be approved as read, and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy,
Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those votinrr No, none.
Application for City License
The application of Bob's Super Shell for a City Business License was presented and
read. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissionor Sorenson that the appli-
cation be approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote; those voting rtye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner
Lowe; those vot ing No, none.
Bids for Hudson Police Car
The Manager stated this was the ti~e and place set for the opening of bids for the
Hudson automobile used in the Police Department. He presented and read the Notice to bidders
whflreupon, it was moved bv Commissioner Sorenson, seounded by Commissioner Lowe that the
bids be opened And read, and the motion was carried by the following ~ye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commis sioner uorenson and Commis sioner Lowe; tllOse I
voting No, none.
The following bids were opened and read:
,Tesse M. ChAse $ 1200.00 cash
Earl M. S ex ton 1200.00 cash
v. E. Iverson 1000.00 cash
Anderson Motors 1100.00 for a trade in on a new Ford.
The two high bids being identical, it was decided that the two men should draw lots
to determine wh~ ch bid would be accepted, and it wasmoved by Commissioner ~orenson,
seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the City Manager be authorized to deliver the Hudson
Sedan to the person drawing the lucky lot, upon receipt of the $1200.00 and the motion was
carried by the following 1i.ye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner
Lowe and Commissioner Sorenson; thos e voting No, none.
Agreemen t u. S. G. S.
The Manager stated that the agreement between The Ci ty of Bozeman and the United States
Geological Survey for the meaSl..lrements of the surface water In the East Gallatin River
wOl1ld expire June 30th, 1946 , and that a new agreement had been prepared, which is identi-
cal witb the former agreements except thst because of increased costs to the u. s. G. s.
The City of Bozeman will have to pay $150.00 per year instead of $100 per year as formerly. I
It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the City Manager
be authorized to sign the a~reement for The City of Bozeman and the motion was carried by
the followftng Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson
and Commissioner Lowo; those voting No, none.

Parking Meters
Mr. James Dunn representing the Dual Parking Meter Company was present and reported
that the standsrds for the parking meters would be shipped from Canton, Ohio, the first
part of the week of June 3rd, and that the meters would probably be shipped the following
week. In answer to questions by the Commis3ioners, Mr. ~lnn stated that the parking meters
I shol,ld be ins taIled and ready for opera tion by the 20th of June. He explained that this
delay was caused by the rail and steel strikes and that it was impossible for his company
to meet the installation dates of the contract because of these strike conditions, but that
everything possible would be done to speed the delivery and installation of these parking
meters.

and the motion was cnrried by the following riye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor
