Those being presen t were Ma yor Hea ly, Commissioner Sorenson, commissioner Lowe, City Manager Quinnell, Ci ty Attorney Ai tken, City Engineer Thorpe and the Clerk when the following proceedings were had to-wit: I The minutes of the last regular session were read, and it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the minutes be approved as re ad, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting rlye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Carpenter Shop on Mendenhall The City Manager reported in connection with the proposed construction of a carpen- ter shop on West Mendenhall, lOCAted in the Fire Zone No.2; tha t the present uniform building code does not permit woodworking shops in Fire Zone No.2, but the ma tter would be given consideration at the Board of Adjustment meeting to be held June 27th, 1946 . Applicatinn for City Licenee The application of the Quality Market for a City License was presented and read. It was rroved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe that the application be approved and the license issued and the motion was carried by the following ~ye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, r on e . I The application of the Hotel Bozeman for a trAnsfer of the City Beer License from the Bozeman Hotel to their organization (the Hotel Bozeman) was presented and read. It was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissioner Sorenson that the applica tion be approved and the transfer made and the motion was carried by the followin~ rlye and No vo te; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 574 -- Intention to Creat~ S.I.D. No. 341 The Mana~er stated that the City Attorney, as instrllcted, had preapred the resolution of in ten tion to create Special Improvement District No. 341, for the installation of a water main and a sanitary sewer to serve the properties from Grant to Lincoln on Willson, Grand and Fourth Avenues, and on Third Avenue from Garfield to Lincoln and on Fifth Avenue from Hayes to Lincoln. He presented and read Resolution No. 574, en ti tIed: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MJNTANA DECLARIKfi IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF SAID COMMISSION TO CREATE A Sp:'CIAL IMPROVEMENT DIS- TRICT OF SAID CITY TO .'BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS SPECIAL IMPROVEME:NT DISTRICT NUMBER 341 FOR THE PURPOSE INSTALLING SANITARY SEWERS AND WATER MAINS WITHIN SAID DISTRICT AS IN TPIS RESOLUTION SPECIFIED AND TO ASS~SS THE ENTIRE COST AND EXPENSE OF SUCH INSTALLATION AGAnrST THE PFOpH~RTY WITHIN SAID SPECIAL IMPROVEM"RNT DISTRICT ON THE AREA BASIS, ALL UNDER AND BY VIRTUE OF THE PRO- VISIONS OF SPCTIONS 5225 to 5277, BOTH SECTIONS INCLUDED, REVISED CODES OF I MONTANA, 1935, AND ANY AMENDMENTS THEREOF OR THERETO. It was moved by Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe tha t the re s 0 - lution be passed and adopted and July 19th, 1946, be set as the date for hearing protests and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Heal y, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those votin~ No, none. Resolution No. 575 -- Intention to Create SID No. 342 The Mana~er stated that the City Attorney as instructed had prepared the resolution of intention to create Special Improvement District No. 342, sanitary sewer in the alley 3(i4 between 11th and 12th Avenues from story to the east and west alley in Block 24 of the Glendale re-arrangement of the West Si~e Addtion. He presented and read Resolution No. 575, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF SAID COMMISSION TO CREATE A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT OF SAID CITY TO BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT mJMBER 342, FOR T~ PURPOSF: OF INSTALLING AN EXTENSION OF THE SANITARY SEWE;R MAIN I liT THE ALLEY BETWEEN ELEVENTH AND TWELFTH A VENUES FROM THE PRB;SENT TERNTINUS OF I SAID SEWER AT STORY S TRKE:T, SOUTH TO THE EAST AND WEST ALLEY IN BLOCK 24 OF GLFNDALE REARRANGEMENT OF '\ PORTION OF WEST SIDE ADDITION TO BOZEMAN AND TI:lENCE WEST IN SAID ALLEY A SUFFICIENT DISTANCE TO SERVE THE LOTS FRONTING ON WEST COLLEGE STREET, APPROXIMATELY NINRTY (90) FEET; AND TO SPECIALLY ASSESS THE PROPERTY IN SAID SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ON THE AR~A BASIS. ALL UNDER AND BY VIRUTE OF THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 5225 TO 5277, BOTH SECTIONS INCLUDED, REVISED CODES OF MONTANA 1935 AND ANY AMENDMENTS THEREOF AND THER~TO. Request to Move Lamp Post East ~ain street A request from the Northern Pacific Railway Company that it be given permission to . move one of the ornamental lights fronting along its property on East Main street, approx- imately twenty feet to the west, was considered by the Commission. The Company a sk per- mission to move the light as it interfers with trucks backing into the driveway. After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner Lowe, seconded by Commissi oner Sorenson that the request be granted, provided that the work be done without expense to the City and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none. I Garba~e Contract 1946-47 The bid of Harold Tjaaland for garbage disposal was considered, and as this was the lowest bid submitted at the time of the call for bids, it was moved b~ Commissioner Sorenson, seconded by Commissioner Lowe the t the bid of Harold T,jaaland in the amount of $14,993.00 for garbage collection and disposal from the residential district during the year ending June 30th, 1947 be accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Healy, Commissioner Sorenson and Commissioner Lowe; those voting No, none.
